Right-to-Carry Bill Scheduled to be Heard Next Week!

Assembly Bill 357 is scheduled to be heard by the Assembly Committee on Public Safety on Tuesday, January 12.

AB357, sponsored by Assembly Member Steve Knight (R-36), would create a “shall issue” concealed handgun permit system in California. Under current law, an applicant must show cause as to why they should be issued a permit to carry a concealed handgun for self-defense. AB357 would remove that stipulation and require sheriffs to issue the license if all other mandated criteria are satisfied.

The Assembly Committee on Public Safety defeated Assembly Bill 357 yesterday by a vote of 4-1. The lone vote in favor of the bill was Assembly Member Curt Hagman (R-60), Vice Chair of the committee.

AB357 would have created a “shall issue” concealed handgun permit system in California. Under current law, an applicant must show cause as to why they should be issued a permit to carry a concealed handgun for self-defense. What ??? You guys aren't allowed to carry? Wow thats messed up..

No, we are allowed to carry but it has to be unloaded and in plain sight. This law would have made it easier for people to get concealed weapons permits.

We are allowed to carry concealed with a permit or ya can carry it without being concealed without a permit...Either way your allowed to have them loaded and chambered...Now if you dont have a permit for concealed then whenever in a car they have to be unloaded and seperated..Like in truck and glove box..(gun&shells)I personally have my permit just because i like to have it on me and not advertise..

hey i guess cali would rather have a good man die before he could get his gun loaded because some nut is gonna kill him because we all know the bad people follow rules and dont have there guns loaded wtf is wrong with some people i believe it should be like a little town in Texas that had a out of towner walk into a bank to rob it and came out in a body bag with more holes then he knew what to do with because they have a thing every one over 21 carries a fire arm know thats why crime is low to non in this town it was on a talk show on tv and i was like damn i wanna live there

In Utah you only have to take a weekend class and you get a permit.
