Got my 14 bolt today with matching 3.73's for $50!!!! With the money I save on regearing, I'll put it towards an atlas.

Plans
2" shave including ring gear shave
Welded spider gears for locker
Disc brake conversion (hopefully keep it under $150)
Nice,...very nice. Keep posting on this. It's gonna be sweet. :Yarighton:

Started tearing down the 14b today to start the disc brake conversion...
Image

Starting cleaning up the carrier also to remove the spider gears and weld them up. Looks real good for a 36+ year old axle...

Now I've been sitting here for the last 8 hours at work, thinking about whether I wanna grind 5/8" away from the bottom of the diff, OR go balls out and chop 2 inches off the bottom and re-plate it to add some clearence

Got all the brakes off. The hubs and studs are pressed in, and I need them for the disc brake swap so time to press them out...

And apart...

Local autozone has reman calipers and and brand new rotors in stock that I need for the swap. Gonna pick those up this weekend.

Also I bought a spool off of a guy on Pirate for $80 shipped!! So now I don't have to weld the spiders :Yarighton:

Not under it yet but I'm getting close.

I actually ditched the front BJ dana 60 and found a kingpin dana 60 out of a 79 F250 snowfighter. I put 5.38's and spools in that and my rear 14bolt. I also did a disc brake conversion on the 14b. I got my front coilovers from FOA a week ago. Also last Friday I put a order in at ruffstuff for a front 3link kit, along with brackets and tabs for the coilovers and shock hoops. From them I also got my ubolts and plates for the 14b in the rear.

Got a sweet deal on some 38.5 TSL sx's too. Come March the Jeep will be under the knife and everything will start going in.

Got a few progress pics...

Got the drums off of the 14b and disc brackets and brakes on...

Brackets welded...
Image

Brakes on and Axle back together with 5.38's and spooled...
Image
Image

Just for fun, 9inch axle shaft (right) compared to 14b shaft (left)...
Image

Moving on. Here is my Kingpin High Pinion Dana 60 with 5.38's and a spool. Its upside down, but you get the idea. Needs some cleaning...
Image

Got sidetracked and made a seat for the dog. Has a double harness and tether for him...
Image
Image

And some 2.5" with Resi 16" FOA Coilovers for the front. Rears will come later...
Image

:whythis: ...because I wanna tear shit up!
